How Did We Get There?



In order to arrive at a common understanding of the system users, we go through a persona definition process. Having a clear understanding of who the users are & agreeing it with all involved parties results in a product that is user oriented and is more likely to be successful.

The persona definition process starts with an interview of key stakeholders and actual customers (if feasible). The information received is then qualified by our own research in the public domain, including competitor comparison and publicly available media profiles (i.e. via Google Display Network, Facebook Ads, etc).



Group Co-Creation

We held a number of interactive whiteboard workshops to identify key user & administrator functions, as well as the immportance & order in which they are presented to the user. It was also key to confirm business objectives as well as goals to measure effectiveness & ROI.

Multiple rounds of high fidelity wireframes were created for rapid iteration & confirmation of functions / screens. Wireframes were created both for larger screens & small mobile screen due to different function sets being available on different size screens.

Prototype Remote
User Testing

Before design phase was commenced, two rounds of remote user testing were carried out, specific to each user persona. One for business & one for training organisations. An interactive, clickable prototype was created, along with specific user scenarios. A user test was then remotely sent out to existing database & over the course of 3 weeks the prototype was tracked & measured against set scenarious that needed to be completed. An indepth report was then created to report findings, provided feedback and following recommendations.

User Interface

User interface for large & small screen sizes was then developed inline with the overall DEECD styleguide. The interface had to be inventive & at the same time conforming to existing style & tone of voice that exists within the Department.
